Biomechanical Analysis & Training

What is biomechanics?

Biomechanics is the science concerned with the internal and external forces acting on the human body and the effects produced by these forces. Biomechanics contributes to our understanding of  the mechanical aspects of human movement, and how poor or altered movement patterns and habits can contribute to injury and pain.

Biomechanics @ Physiotherapy Centre Bendigo

At Physiotherapy Centre Bendigo we want to indentify the underlying causes of symptoms so that as well as treating the immediate problem, we work to fix the underlying cause for long term management. As part of your assessment your physiotherapist will look at your posture and movement patterns to identify patterns that may be contributing to your pain, or even that may cause problems in the future. Then we can develop treatment and exercise to improve movement, strengthen or stretch where necessary to prevent injury or re-injury.  Your exercise may include components of Clinical Pilates or even Therapeutic Tai Chi for optimal and rapid recovery.

Biomechanical analysis for improved performance

Correcting movement patterns that are less than ideal, identifying weakness or tightness and devising the best corrective exercise/training program can help to prevent injury and enhance performance.
