TeleHealth and Online Consultations Available
Like many businesses have needed to do during the COVID-19 crisis, we have adapted some of our services to reduce the human to human contact that we are all working so hard to avoid. While we do continue to offer on-site Physiotherapy and independent Pilates services, we are now also offering TeleHealth and Online consultations. These consults utilise phone or video-calling technology to conduct appointments. The process for commencing a consult like this is short and simple and allows you to complete your appointment from the comfort of your own home.
One of the misconceptions of private practice physiotherapy is that hands on treatment is the main thing that helps people manage and recover from their injuries and health issues. We know however, that education, advice and exercise prescription is just as important and if not more important, in leading to recovery, good management and better long term outcomes. Of course, some injuries benefit from hands on treatment that TeleHealth cannot provide, however there are many other key aspects of an appointment that can be addressed by an online or phone consult, with one of our physiotherapists.
– Changes to regulations now allow WorkCover patients to utilise TeleHealth services also.
– Private Health Insurance companies are finalising details to allow claiming on TeleHealth consults.
– Medicare are also finalising details to allow eligible patients access to TeleHealth consults.
– We are waiting for announcements from TAC and DVA regarding patient’s accessing TeleHealth services.
If you would like to book a TeleHealth or Online consultation with one of our physiotherapists, please call the practice on (03) 5442 4044.
